well, this post is a tad late, but these pictures are just so cute i couldn't pass up the opportunity to share them! many of you know that ezra has a sweet little friend named brooks who lives on campus here with our good friends larry and christy. we've been doing a babysitting swap thing-a-majig with them for a while now. so when valentine's rolled around, eric and i went out on friday while they watched ezra at their house. eric and i went out to eat at a fun local restaurant here in town and then went shopping at kohl's because i had a 30% off anything in the store coupon! :) here we are enjoying our fine-dining experience (it's not that great, i know - the picture that is!):
well, on saturday (actual v-day), eric and i had the boys most of the afternoon and evening. it was great fun! first we took them to the zoo. brooks had never been, so it was so fun pointing out all the animals. ezra has kinda of caught on about growling and such, so when we saw the lions and tigers, he would try to growl, although it sounds more like heavy breathing/gurgling, etc.
the zoo is amazing here, complete with glass windows where the animals literally are just inches away from you! this lion was fascinated by the babies; in all honesty, it was just a little bit scary!
brooks, a kind-hearted little fella, offering ezra his sippy cup.
brooks notes that a second sippy cup of milk is also available. is a royal switch-a-roo imminent?
ezra saw a few things he thought the boys would need ...
"where are we going, ezra???"
i've included this pic because while we were at the grocery store, we let the boys each pick out their own balloon. while we were standing in the check out line, both boys were banging their balloons about and waving them in the air and laughing. so many passerbys wanted to know if they were twins! at only 7-weeks apart, it didn't surprise me that they asked. anyway, this was ezra's valentine's balloon. brooks picked out a "happy birthday!" balloon. unfortunately, his didn't even make it home in one piece he had so much fun playing with it. as christy said, the balloons told all about the differences in our boys' personalities. :)
baby adentures #3 -
brooks participated in a gilchrest baby rite-of-passage. he, like ezra, ATE A BUN BUN TERD!!! could i please tell you how HORRIFIED i was when i was buckling him into the booster seat to feed him dinner when i saw him spew out a whole cocoa-puffed sized piece of rabbit excrement from his mouth??? i just about died when i had to tell his parents when they came home, but they were good sports and laughed really hard about it! christy figured that if ezra's survived the experience without any adverse side effects (yes, all of THREE TIMES, i regret to report) than brooks will make it out just fine, too. thank heavens i do not have a picture to document this tragic event.
except for the bun bun incident, we had a great valentine's with our sweet little friend!
baby adventures #1 - "baby d-r-a-m-a!"
ezra - "why thanks, brooks, i'd love a taste of YOUR milk!"
ezra - rejected!!!
all is well once again with these two peas in a pod - complete with matching robeez, camo pants, hoodies, and sippy cups. could synchronized sipping be any sweeter?!?
all loaded up after a fun time at the zoo! note the milk dribbling out of ezra's mouth. just lovely, little darling! he does this because he thinks it's funny.
