last night we had a family date night. pizza and movie-watching of lizzie's Christmas gift from us - cinderella. "uncle" jo-bay came over to share the evening with us. "jo-bay" is the kiddos' adopted former CL-Disney workin-Truett studying-Indian uncle who we are blessed to share daily life with! he is special to all of us!
fast forward about 15-hours. lizzie just woke up. this was our morning conversation:
lizzie: morning, mommy! warrrrrm. coo oozy! [as she hugs her blankie and puppy.] ooooh! birdies! tweet-tweeet! [when she hears the morning birds singing outside of her window.]
i then pick her up out of her crib and sit in the rocking chair giving her hugs and kisses when she points down the hall to the TV where we had been watch Cinderella for the first time as a family date night last night.
lizzie: kitty-cat! TV mommy. kitty-cat. doggie. woof-woof!
me: yes, was the kitty-cat on cinderella scary last night, lizzie?
lizzie: yeth. [that is how she says yes :) ] scaaaaa-aaary! liza-james, mama! liza-james!
[and she proceeds to go over to our CD player to play her favorite CD that was given to us as a Christmas gift from the Smarts a little over a year ago {BOOHOO!}. liza-jane is lizzie's favorite song, but she calls it liza-james. :)
lizzie: jo-bay, mama? jo-bay? sleeping? [recalling that joben was over last night, too!]
me: yes, lizzie. jobay is sleeping. at his house. [needed closure there]
DEAR PARENTS: you realize you have committed a PARENT FAIL when your 21-month-old starts talking about the scary Cinderella movie from the night before first thing when she wakes up!!! yes, although lizzie thought the mice on cinderella [OR cin-bella as she calls it] were hilarious, lucifer the cat scared her to death! any time he showed up on the screen she ran to my lap and would scrunch up her face in fear and if the cat went for the mice she would say "ohh! ooh no!" and every now and then she would throw herself across me and hide her little face burrowing it in the coziest place she could find! next thing we know she starts saying "night! night!" subtext here: get a clue, mom! i am D-U-N-Z-O with this and ready for bed!!!" so sweet lizzie lasted not even the first 15-minutes of cinderella (maybe less!). i have to admit that we may have let it go on a bit longer than needed because she was TOO hilarious reacting to that cat!!! ezra on the other hand belly-laughed throughout the whole movie, especially at the sweet little mouse gus-gus.
lizzie just walked out of her room as i am finishing this blog post. "look, mommy! canon! shoot." yeth, she is the sister of an older brother as she plays with his pirate ship while he is still sleeping. :) bless it.
