20 months old already

sweet boy, you are 20 months old today. or maybe it was yesterday? september doesn't have a 31st, so we'll just have to fudge a little. :) here are 20 things about you:

1. your three favorite books to read at bedtime are "no more monkeys jumping on the bed!" "peter rabbit," and "guess how much i love you." i think these are your favorites because ...

2. you love monkeys! (your fav stuffed animal is the gorilla we keep in the car. you like to play "ooh! oooh!" with it and mommy & daddy.)

3. you love bunny rabbits!

4. you are learning new words every day, like yesterday you started saying "high fifth!" (high five)

5. you are obsessed with balls, particularly your little red and green bath balls.

6. every time we eat dinner at Penland, your ritual is to go see the basket/foot/soccer-balls on display in the lobby FIRST; otherwise, dinner is miserable and you moan about seeing them the.whole.meal!

7. you and bun bun have a mysterious bond; you are the only person in the world he allows to "be in his space" without charging, nipping or grunting. this includes playing with his food and poking him in the face with it WHILE bun bun is eating!

8. your best friend in Waco is none other than Miss AJ. you look forward to her coming over SO much! you love her like a big brother - hugs and kisses and love pats.

9. with aj in your life on a regular basis, you are learning to share. :) we'll get there.

10. after bath at night, one of your favorite things to do is roll around mommy & daddy's bed naked. you snuggle in the blankets and flop all over the pillows. it is hilarious (and also slightly difficult to dress you because you wiggle so much!)

11. you love to sit in the car and play "vrroom! vrroom!"

12. you love running your hands through our windchimes

13. each day you want to play outside more and more - especially on your new outdoor slide & swing castle.

14. sometimes, you'll walk around our house with 4 balls shoved underneath your neck and your 3 golf clubs in your arms. you love to watch golf. tiger makes you run around and go bananas and swing your golf clubs like a crazed little friend. (it actually makes mommy & daddy laugh really hard.)

15. you are a good listener. mommy & daddy rarely spank you because at an early age you have had such a tender heart.

16. bike rides are big fun, especially if they take us in the direction of dairy queen to share a blizzard!

17. you like giving kissies. mommy asks for them about ten times a day now. wherever you are, you promptly run over to plant a big one right on mommy's lips! sometimes when you kiss mommy it's more like a make-out session because you slobber all over her! you kissed daddy through the rungs of the crib the other day, and you thought that was just hilarious!

18. when daddy or i are about to get you out of your car seat now, you suddenly cover your eyes with your sweet little hands. and then we act like we can't find you and say, "where's ezra?!?!" to our shock and surprise, you'll pop open your hands like "here i am!" if we do NOT say, "where's ezra?" and just sit there staring at you, you've got it covered because you'll start saying YOURSELF, "ehra? ehra?" (like come on mom & dad, you know how this goes!)

19. in the morning, you like to copy mommy & daddy getting ready. you borrow mommy's combs & "bwush" to fix your hair. you especially like to put on daddy's deoderant - on your tummy, on your face, or in your hair. you like to take daddy's hair clay and pretend to rub your hands through your hair just like daddy. you also love it when we brush our teeth. you always ask us to share - mmm! nothing like the taste of someone else's toothpaste!

20. you have already added more joy and laughter to your parents' lives than they could have ever imagined. you are dearly loved!!!
