math show off

well, it still ain't over. :( after ravaging through our family (eric was sick on monday & tuesday, and i was on tuesday & wednesday) ... we thought that all the sickness was winding down since the last time ezra threw up was tuesday night. well, he woke up this morning - friday - puking AGAIN. and he filled his diaper with diahrhhea 4 times in 1.5 hours. poor little sweetie pie!! we were supposed to go visit our good friends joseph and mark kathryn the past 2 days, but since their little girl lydia has the chicken pox, and ezra was sick, we decided to take a rain check. considering this morning's events, i'm glad we did!

anyway, the doctor instructed us to keep ezra on a liquid diet. he won't drink gatorade or any flavor of pedialite. i guess that's consistent with his other preferences. he just doesn't like sugary things in general - like, he's not a fan of juice really. but he LOVES water and especially milk. as the following story will illustrate:

so, on wednesday, eric had ezra in his lap sitting in the living room in the big recliner trying to give him some pedialite out of his purple sippy cup (sort of fruity, i know, but i couldn't find the right sippy cups in ANY store in waco in ONLY boy colors, so we have a green and purple one. hey, if we have a girl down the road, that will work, right?!) anyway, ezra kept pushing the cup away, not interested in having any of it. he finally wiggled out of eric's lap onto the carpet floor and walked clear to the kitchen where he proceeded to put his little hand on the refrigerator handle and started tugging. he tried to pull it open, so eric decided to walk over to help him to see what he wanted. as soon as he was inside, ezra reached up to the top shelf to grab his GREEN sippy cup full of milk. when eric handed it to him, he guzzled away. at only 13 months, ezra has already figured out his first two math equations:

puple sippy cup + pedialite = YUCKY!

green sippy cup + milk = YUMMY!

does this mean we're in trouble? :)
