the adventures of isaac and ezra

for those of you who know us well, you know that my 4-year college potluck roommate jenny married eric's three-year college potluck roommate aaron. (eric transfered to us his sophomore year - hence, their bond was not quite as seasoned as jen's and mine. :) yes, it could not be more beautifully romantic ... a book or movie surely should be coming out about it soon (yes, the notebook: it's time to step aside.) after eric and i got back from our honeymoon, we were home maybe 2 days before we were packing our bags headed to WV for jenny & aaron's wedding. so this summer we're all celebrating 8 years. woohoo!

to make matters only sweeter, both couples have boys ... only ten months apart. jen & aaron have a little boy named isaac who certainly serves as surrogate big brother to ezra when he's around. isaac is well practiced at his big brother role, however, because their family was recently blessed with a PRECIOUS little baby doll girl named lucy ... she is just 9-months. so she's not quite in on all the action yet with our boys, but i'm sure she will be before the four of us adults are ready!!!

all this to say, ezra is CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAZY about isaac and lucy, as this video in the kitchen details. it was shot just about an hour before they arrived:



isaac and ezra could NOT have been sweeter together during their visit over Easter weekend. one morning while jen and i were getting everything and everybody ready for the zoo (the guys were doing their man thing golfing), the little men were getting a bit wound up and stir crazy (can you blame them? it WAS taking us 3 HOURS - sheesh!), so i offered to put on a thomas video for them (read: much needed chill time.) both boys climbed up on the couch, and while they were waiting for me, isaac impetuously leans over to ezra and plants a BIG KISS on ezra's cheek! ezra smiles back and sweetly replies, "thank you, isaac!" MELT.MY.HEART!

one of the afternoons they were here, the daddios took the little men to the park to ride bikes. i thankfuly/brilliantly thought to pick up a $4 bike for isaac at our recent consignment so the little men could cruise together ... 2 things of note in the video: #1 - isaac's TOTAL ninja moves coming down the hill to help ezra (where DOES he learn that? uh hmmm .... aaron???) and #2 - ezra bleating "help! help! help!" pitifully as he is waiting for isaac to push him up the hill. (hey, ezra IS 10-months-younger than big cuz isaac, so you can't exactly expect him to keep up ALL THE TIME!)
