memory

and no, i'm not referring to the game.  i am referring to sweet little ezra's longterm memory which blows us away on a very regular basis.  just today, ezra was talking to eric about a time he went to an old train station and some other train place in pittsburgh with eric and paw paw.  ezra was asking eric if he remembered about it, and eric couldn't totally remember what ezra was talking about.  ezra said, "no, dad!  not the train station.  you know the place with the small trains, and there was an imaginary land with lots of colors ..."  eric had forgotten that after the station they had visited some model trains.  eric asked me at lunch when that train excursion took place.  (poor dad couldn't even remember.)  it was the Christmas before ezra turned three ... ezra has not seen a single picture since then; we haven't talked with ezra about the trip since then, and yet, for some reason ... today ... over 1 1/2 years later ... ezra was just thinking about it ... and even chose to articulate a number of details and specifics related to the event!  wow!  sometimes, it makes me a little scared what other things he might remember. :)  in truth, this little boy blows our mind ... and memory ... away!

He is a very special little boy: memory, verbal skills, and emotional understanding. He amazes me, too! I know it must give you both great joy to watch this little life unfolding.

Our Jedidiah is this way, too. I am constantly amazed by the memories that he pulls up. So interesting...
