well, sweet lil lizzie turned 17-months last week. i can hardly believe it. my baby is ... well ... not so much a baby anymore. i was bathing her two nights ago and she was all laid out in the tub, and i could hardly believe how LONG she has gotten! these days she seems to outgrow an outfit every other day! we have put away all of her 12-month clothes, and she is wearing all 18-month and even 24-month clothes now! she has outgrown her gold summer jellies ... sniff ... sniff ... and she is already wearing a shoe size SIX! her feet are HUGE! i had purchased all sorts of fun shoes for her to wear this past summer at the spring JBF, and yes, she wore guess how many ... ? yep! NONE of them! good thing i can sell them all back!
lizzie's little personality is blooming more and more fully every day! she is SOOOO fun! some of her latest developments:
-making 412 friends in the dining hall. and no, i am not kidding. she never meets a stranger. she yells "hey!" at any student sitting near us until they respond. when she is done eating, she has to get down and socialize, which includes patting people on the arms or legs - oh my goodness! what am i gonna do?! this past week she made friends with the BU football team! j'marcus called her his "homie!" what a hoot!
-blowing kisses whenever she says goodbye ... to anyone!
-reading "bom-bay, bom-bay!" or "brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?"
-reading "foot! foot! foot!" or the "foot book" and "phum! phum! phum!" or "hand, fingers, thumb" by dr. seuss
-walking up to tv, pointing high to the sound system, starting to wiggle her hips and shoulders (like a shimmy) and saying "dan! dan!" = or requesting music to dance to! her current favorite song is by bare naked ladies (whoever thought THEY would make a children's album!) called "pollywog in a bog" complete with a jamaican frog motif where lizzie (and ezra!) love to hop around the living room like little frogs ... ok, lizzie doesn't really hop. she mostly is on all fours and pumps her little diapered bum up and down in the air.
-she LOVES anything on four legs that is furry! she is TOTALLY fearless! we have some good friends with a little yorkie dog named sophie, and whenever sophie kisses lizzie, lizzie gives her a full, open-mouthed LICK back! ack! what can i say? we're building her immune system! :P

How can it be? It sounds like she would get a long wtih Eli's little adventurous spirit. And those bathtubs (and crib) create the most sad little measuring gauges. It happens so quickly! Give the kiddos a pollywog kiss from us!
I can see Lizzie-luv dancing and talking here. Sweet little girl! Love her, "Hey!" I surely love her!
