18-month check up

so, queenie had her 18-month check up about 10 days ago.  a few stats:

height: 32.87"
weight: 24 lbs 4 oz
ht 75% wt 50% head circumference: 90%

lest you be concerned, babies with big heads totally run in our family - thanks to their father. :)  dr. k says that's a good thing because that gives them plenty of room for all their brains. :) that's not a bad thing, right? :) ezra's head was off the charts til he was 3, so at least lizzie is on the chart, right? :)

she also received her 18-mo immunizations.  the first one she just looked at me like, "mom, what just happened?"  for the second shot she cried and screamed like a normal toddler should.

poor little dolly - i took her home after she got a sugarless sucker and lots of kisses from mommy, and while eric was changing her diaper and getting her ready for nap time (and messing with her legs, etc which i'm sure were tender from her immunizations), she pulls out her paci and in the most pathetic tone said, "SHOTS! NO MA'AM!!"  oh really, dear?  why don't you tell us what you really think! :)

while we were at the check-up for lizzie, ezra as if on cue says, "look, mommy, what i wrote!"
he showed me a piece of paper i had given him to draw on and he had written:
"RAT"
"HAT"
"MAT"
and he read all three words to me!  dr. k was beyond impressed that ezra was already starting to read, write and spell at only 4-years of age, and then a conversation about educating gifted children ensued.  our sweet, sweet good little boy.  we are so grateful and so blessed that God has not only given him a tender, precious heart but also a good mind.  he is such a joy to us as parents!

I think she may be tall. You were on track to be tall, too, but stopped growing after 5th grade. She looks so much like you that I wonder is she will be taller than you or not?

She is doing great and has such a warm, people-loving personality.

Want to hear Dr. K's thoughts on education. She is a great doc!
