blogging in 2010

yes, so it has been nearly a month since i have last blogged. fall finals, closedown (which involved moving 108 residents out), eric's birthday, Christmas & new year's(which involved flying across the country and schlepping sweet little ezra through three different states), back to work, CL spring training, spring opening (which involved moving 108 residents back in), and the start of a new semester for me as a graduate student has all happened. maybe that's WHY i haven't blogged in a month! just typing that all out makes me feel exhausted!

i think i also get blog anxiety about major events. i've recently recognized a pattern in my blogging behavior: i NEVER blog about any of the "major" stuff in our lives, ie my or eric's bday for that matter. i also seem to skip all the "fun" stuff in our lives, ie the little june getaway this past summer with our friends mary kathryn and joseph, or our september family trip to panama city, or ezra's second christmas ... or his first christmas for that matter! i come home overwhelmed with the 50-300 photos from these events and put off blogging about it "until i have time." YAH RIGHT! like i'll be getting any of that any time soon as a working full time grad student/wife/and mother! if i want to make myself feel better, i DID blog about ezra's first birthday at least (although it was heavy on the pics and weany on the details) and our summer fam trip to SA! (pat, pat on the back)

so enough of the dramatic intro. this basically brings me to one of my new year's resolutions. i would like to attempt to blog at least 3 times a week (how's that for a weak resolution - "i'd LIKE to ATTEMPT"?!?!? really, kendel, you can do better ....) i'm going to shoot for like a mon, wed, fri sched. i say this because eric and i ALL TOO quickly realizing how VERY quickly our sweet boy ezra is growing up. let's be clear, he is already turning TWO at the end of the month. I, for one, am NOT prepared for this. he is also learning and changing SOOO much right now. he says something new and cute and precious almost every day, and there is NO way we can remember all these sweet little moments, so i really hope i (eric hopes to jump in on some of this blogging action as well so i could also use the pronoun WE here) can do better about blogging on a regular basis.

sorry, aunt laura. that means there might be more stories and less photos. you'd find the 50-300 a little overwhelming, too. *wink* (not to mention if anyone has figured out a more convenient, efficient, user-friendly way to upload photos onto blogger.com, PLEASE fill me in b/c it is the BANE of my blogging existence!)

Kendel- you can actually use Picasa web albums to upload slide shows to your blog. You just need a google account (which you already have since you have blogger). So you upload all your pictures to an album, tell it to create a slide show and then add captions. You copy/paste the HTML code into your blog, but when people view it, it shows as a fun slide show! I'll be glad to show you sometime if you want!
