the fam went shopping today to pick up a few needed items. while at wal-mart, ezra sang the ABCs no less than 30 times ... he knows the whole song now and can even sing the "now i know my ABCs line" as clear as day (it was pretty mumbled before). it tickles us, but for some reason, he always sings that end part twice!
ezra's verbal skills are exploding exponentially these days. his teachers at school and our good friends peter and beth are even noticing. the story below from on the way back from wal-mart is case in point ...
as we drove by the museum ...
e: "zoo zeum, zoo zeum, mama. choo choo. choo choo tracks. tunnel. long tunnel. choo choo go in tunnel (which there is an exhibit with a choo choo track/tunnel which he loves!). viver ... viver (river, river - which is located right by the museum). i svim. i go svimming in the viver. bubble bath! i svim in bubble bath. i nakey jay bird!"
eric and i looked at each other and were like, "thank you, ezra, for informing us of everything that was exactly on your mind!" :) moving from the museum to swimming in the bath tub as a "nakey jay bird" ... TOO FUNNY!

Ezra, our newest form of GPS:
on thursday afternoon, i picked ezra up from pdo. he had another great day and was yacking it up on the way home telling me about parker and james and ms. mindy and ms. jessica, when i turned onto the freeway and my child starts HOLLERING from the back seat ... "NO!!! i go home!!! HOME!!!! i play CHOO CHOO TRACK!!!! CHOO CHOO TRACK!!!" i kindly had to inform him that we needed to run by the store and then we could go home to play choo choo track. this seem to pacify him a bit, but he still was pretty disappointed we weren't going straight home. tell me HOW he knows the way home from PDO already?!?
in a similar vein, that evening it was SNOWING ... yes, SNOWING, can you believe it?!? ... and i had a conference i needed to attend in the evening. i asked for eric and ezra to drop me off on their way to family dinner because it was so cold. we were all in the car trucking along when eric turned a different way in order to drop me off for my conference. AGAIN, from the back seat ... ezra starts hollering, "EAT!!! EAT!!! collins, mama!!!!" yes, he KNEW that we were taking a different direction than our normal route to collins ... INCREDIBLE! we assured him that he and eric were still going to collins, that daddy just had to drop mommy off, and that they would be eating dinner at collins very soon. as soon as we explained the "situation," he was peachy keen!
who needs GPS when you have ezra along?! :)

Amazing, considering you would have to give your mom directions to Collins from your apt.!
Okay so these stories are totally hilarious. My favorite was his stream of consciousness moment. Awesome!
