valentine's day morning

i was getting ready for church this morning while ezra was playing on the stool next to me. out of the blue, he shared his v-day love ...

e: "sweet mommy!"
K: "oh, why thank you, ezra!"
e: "i hug mommy." (where he promptly gets down from his stool, hugs my leg, and starts banging his head. that's how he gives EXTRA big hugs. :P
K: "ezra, thank you so much for my sweet hug!"

then the conversation takes a bit of a darker turn ...

e: "i kick mommy!" (isn't this how all little boys show their extra love, mom???)
K: "no, ezra does not kick mommy."
e: "i kick bun bun!" (if i can't go for mom, at least i can get the rabbit, right?!)
K: "no, ezra does not kick bun bun either. that is not loving or kind."
e: "i sorry bun bun!" (this is a phrase he frequently uses after being discipline, along with "-give me?" for "please forgive me?" :)

in ezra's defense, he did NOT try to kick me ... he is just really into kicking these days. he will pick up any big ball and with great showmanship, he will do a pretty darn good kick! eric and i have also realized that we have slightly confused ezra because we often shoo bun bun with our foot to corrall him into his cage, but we think ezra perceives this as kicking bun bun. so now we always have to bend down and pick up bun bun with our hands (gasp - so much work!) nevertheless, my sweet boy touched my heart this morning informing me that i was sweet and that he wanted to hug me! you can't pay money for that!!!
